Working Out Spiritually

Many people talk about working out and eating right. Whenever I get on social media I see so many people talking about these two topics. They have a passion for being healthy. I really believe people have a desire to be healthy. I recently saw a mirror that made you look thinner in the mirror than you do in real life. Great marketing idea but it is not very healthy.

Lately, I have been focused on health. My wife Nichole always tries to get me to eat healthy. She cooks really well and I love her cooking! I have not been thinking about my physical health as much as my spiritual health. I don’t want a spiritual life like most people. I have seen too many “plastic Christians” and it is a turn off when someone tells me what I need to do when they are not living out what they know.

I want to share this concept of working out spiritually that has helped me and that has kept me from burning out in my spiritual life.

When we are living out our faith we should always connect with God daily. This includes having a daily time when you read the Bible and pray. This is you connecting with God and is crucial for you to be spiritually healthy.

When we are living out our faith we should daily seek to teach and mentor other people in the Church. It is everyone’s job to teach people who are younger in their faith what the Bible says. (Matthew 28:20)

When we are living out our faith we should daily seek to share what we know with people who are not followers of Jesus. Think about Jesus when he was on His way to the cross to be crucified for us. He was on a mission but this guy named Luke records in Luke 19:10 that Jesus stops and spends time with this guy named Zacchaeus. Zacchaeus was a tax collector. No one liked him and he was an outcast. Jesus’ mission was to seek and to save that which was lost. We should join Jesus on His mission to seek out people who are not followers of Jesus and share the story of hope with them!

These three things are constantly on my mind and I am learning more everyday about having a healthy spiritual life. Always know that God wants to teach you something. For Him to teach you, you must listen and obey. I believe that if every follower of Jesus focused on these three things, the world would be a better place.
